Dear Exoecting Parents,
     Congratulations! For the birth of our third daughter, Violet, Heidi attended my birth as my doula.  Wow! What a difference she made in my birth experience.
     At first, my husband was hesitant to bring someone else into the room with us.  After all, we had already done this twice together.  After the fact, he told me what a great idea it had been.  He could focus on me without being completely responsible for getting the nurse, closing the door, coming up with ideas of how to ease my pain and all the little, and not so little, things that would take his focus from me and our baby.
     Heidi was able to encourage me and help me remember, with out EVER being pushy, what I wanted for my birth,  Even though my birth was pitocin induced, I was able to deliver vaginally without an epidural or episiotomy.  I credit her encouraging spirit  with helping me accomplish this.  I highly recommend Heidi and when we have our fourth child, I will be calling on her services again.

     You were a wonderful doula.  Thank you so much for all your help and advice!    This being my second birth I had a few ideas and fears going into labor this time.  You were very supportive of what I wanted as well as, helping me to keep an open mind, as each birth experience is different.  I appreciated all of your input.  My mind was eased by knowing you were there to interject as needed.  I felt as though you knew when to step in and when to give me space.  You kept wonderful records and made sure the nurses were attentive.  You helped make this birth experience very calm and memorable.  We will definitely call you for any future births.

     Thank you so much for your love, support and encouragement during my pregnancy, labor and the birth of our son.  The peace of mind you provided for us was really invaluable and I can't imagine the birth experience without you!  You did and awesome job of making me feel empowered and like we were doing everything we could to acheive the experience I wanted.  I hope you are able to contiunue to help other women the way you helped me.

I wouldn't  have traded Heidi for anyone in the world!!  I contacted Heidi when I was 6 weeks pregnant and we kept a close relationship all the way up until my delivery.  I was a first time mom, and Heidi was always there if I had any questions or concerns.  When I delivered my daughter, I had been in labor for 20 hours and Heidi was there with me every step of the way!  My mom and husband (who were present at the birth ) felt at ease with Heidi and was able to leave the room and not feel "guilty".  After the birth, both mom and my husband said getting a doula was the best thing I could have done.  Heidi also drove an hour away to where I live and spoke to me about post partum depression and just to see how I was doing.  It was an amazing experience and will definitely recommend Hedi to anyone I know.

We finally got smart on the 4th pregnancy and hired Heidi.  FROM THE DAD'S PERSPECTIVE: THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO GO!  Do whatever it takes to hire a doula for your wife, more specifically Heidi!  THe pressure that was taken off of me, Greg, was enormous.  And just seeing the relief on Becky's face during contractions by Heidi's massage techniques was worth it.  After 3 babies I still didn't know how to comfort Becky, having Heidi there took the stress off me and allowed me to relax so I could be more supportive.  Heidi conversed with the medical staff to voice Becky's needs when Becky couldn't.  She also knew what to tell Becky so she could progress to the next level.  She involved me and helped me know how to help Becky.  She brought a calm to our delivery that we hadn't experienced at the previous 3 deliveries.  We can't say enough about Heidi.  She came to our house during labor so we didn't have to go to the hospital too soon.  She was great! Dear Heidi
Paul and I just want to thank you again for your advice and support during my pregnancy, labor and delivery.  We are thrilled we were able to have the birthing experience we wanted this time.  I am also very thankful that you referred us to Dr. Oplotnik and the Olathe Medical center.  Even though she wasn't able to be there all the nurses at OMC were great.  You are doing very important and special work!
